Varsity Club director Scott Dolson has been a part of Indiana Athletics for over 20 years and has enjoyed working to attract and maintain a loyal and generous supporter base for the success of the Hoosiers.
In his third year as the director of the IU Varsity Club, the Michigan City, Ind., native has been a member of the fundraising staff since December of 1989. Over his tenure, Dolson has worked in various roles including; major gifts, annual giving, volunteer network and the courtesy car program.
Only the fourth director of the Varsity Club, Dolson currently oversees the athletic department's overall fundraising program for scholarships, annual giving, endowments and athletic facilities.
"What I love most about this job are the people I get to meet and interact with everyday," Dolson said. "I also take tremendous pride in knowing that what I'm doing is helping our student-athletes. I get to come to work everyday and do something I truly believe in."
Dolson graduated from IU in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in Management from the School of Public & Environmental Affairs. While doing his undergraduate work at IU Dolson served a student manager for the IU basketball program for four seasons. He served as the programs head manager his final season.
"I grew up a huge IU fan," Dolson said. "I loved IU and I always wanted to be a part of Hoosier Athletics. Being a team manager was without a doubt one of the best things that ever happened to me. I met some of my best friends through it, and I obviously wouldn't have the opportunities I have today if it hadn't been for that experience."
"The thing I'm most proud of is representing IU and all that it stands for," Dolson said. "I believe so strongly in higher education, especially higher education at IU. I believe that attending IU can have a tremendous impact on people. That's why I am doing what I'm doing here at this great University."
