IU Athletics Launches Director’s Club Campaign for Its Most Philanthropic-Minded Donors

In support of our ongoing effort to secure IU's place at the forefront of the new world of intercollegiate athletics, IU Athletics has announced a new initiative geared toward our most generous and philanthropic-minded donors.
Beginning today, IU Athletics and the IU Varsity Club have embarked on a push in support of the Director's Club. Established to recognize IU Athletics donors who make philanthropic commitments above and beyond their annual giving contributions, Director's Club members provide vital resources to the Athletic Director's TEAM fund. Those tax-deductible gifts are critical in supporting our efforts to enjoy championship-level success in football, men's and women's basketball, and in all our 24 varsity sports.
"While much has changed in college athletics, our priorities as a department have not. We are committed to being in a leadership position in the Big Ten and nationally when it comes to investing in our student-athletes so that they have world-class academic and athletic opportunities and can compete for championships," said Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Dolson. "The support that we receive from our Director's Club has been critical in making that vision a reality and giving Hoosier fans unforgettable experiences like last year's College Football Playoff appearance. These are the resources that give us the flexibility we need to compete at an elite level."
This initiative will continue to be a top priority of the department over the next several years, as the need for unrestricted funds is vital for the success of our teams. The Director's Club features three commitment levels, which are detailed below. In addition to making a direct and immediate impact on the championship pursuits of our student-athletes and programs, there are a series of special benefits reserved exclusively for Director's Club members. Special-branded apparel, private event and practice invitations, exclusive engagement opportunities, and accelerated priority points are just a sampling of what Director's Club members can expect each year.
In addition to those special benefits, Director's Club members will also enjoy knowing that they have a direct and immediate impact on the success of our student-athletes and programs. It may be what gives our department the ability to retain a highly-successful coach with a new contract. Perhaps it enables a team to go on an overseas trip that gives them an early opportunity to practice and get a leg up on the Big Ten competition. Whatever it is, Director's Club members know that their above-and-beyond support is specifically earmarked to help us compete at a championship level.
"A lot goes into the historic success that we've enjoyed for the last year and a half as a football program. I can't emphasize enough how critical this type of support has been and will continue to be in the new era of college athletics. We are all on this journey together to elevate IU Football, and I look forward to partnering with our Director's Club members and thanking them for all they do to support our program," said IU Football Coach Curt Cignetti.
"We have a rich tradition of winning at the highest level of both the Big Ten and NCAA. In the new landscape of recruiting high school and portal kids, we need continued support from the Director's Club to get back to our winning ways. The impact these gifts have on our program do not go unnoticed and can be felt every day in practice. We always welcome Director's Club donors at team events, practices, and games. We look forward to seeing you all soon!" said IU Men's Basketball Coach Darian DeVries.
"Building and sustaining a championship level team is not possible without the continue support of our donors. Through Directors Club contributions, we will be able to maintain a level of success on and off the field and support our student-athletes at the highest level through their college careers," said IU Women's Basketball Coach Teri Moren.
