IU Athletics Recognizes Inaugural Class of Glaubinger Scholar-Athletes

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - This summer, Indiana Athletics secured the single largest gift in its history that will provide scholarships for IUB student-athletes who participate in non-revenue varsity sports.
The Glaubinger Foundation, on behalf of Larry and Lucienne Glaubinger, committed a $10 million gift to the IU Athletic Scholarship Endowment.
Each year a select group of Indiana University-Bloomington varsity student-athletes participating in men's and women's non-revenue sports will be designated as Glaubinger Scholar-Athletes. The inaugural class of Glaubinger Scholar-Athletes for the 2005-06 academic year are:
Baseball- Senior Josh Lewis, Mt. Airy, Md.
Women's Basketball- Freshman Whitney Thomas, Bloomington, Ind.
Men's Diving- Sophomore Taylor Roberts, Aurora, Colo.
Women's Diving- Sophomore Christina Loukas, Deerfield, Ill.
Field Hockey- Sophomore Meredith Brown, Elkton, Md.
Men's Golf- Freshman Seth Brandon, Dalton, Ga.
Women's Golf- Senior Katie Carlson, Livonia, Mich.
Rowing- Freshman Ashley Johnson, Alpharetta, Ga.
Men's Soccer- Senior Jordan Chirico, Conesus, N.Y.
Women's Soccer- Sophomore Stacey Van Boxmeer, Ontario, Canada
Softball- Freshman Aubrey Hayes, Lakeworth, Fla.
Men's Swimming- Junior Colin Russell, Barrie, Ontario
