Assembly Hall was a little more crowded than usual at Friday, Dec. 2nd's Indiana men's basketball practice. Over 130 of IU's most loyal and generous supporters were treated to an insider's view of Hoosier men's hoops.
Donors from the Hoosier Hundred Athlete and Hoosier Hundred Scholar levels were given the unique opportunity to watch basketball practice as the team prepared for its upcoming games.
Following practice, donors had the chance to meet and greet this year's team. A private reception and autograph session were held to give donors the chance to meet their favorite players and coach Mike Davis.
"We always try to connect our donors with the end-users (the student-athletes) whenever possible," Director of Annual Giving Jim Harris said. "It is great for the athletes to have a chance to see where their scholarship money comes from and at the same time it is great for our donors and their families to meet the players and the coaches. The Varsity Club and athletic department are so grateful for everything our members do for all of our student athletes and we like to show that gratitude as much as possible. We hope to continue this event for years to come."
Hoosier Hundred Athlete and Hoosier Hundred Scholar are the Varsity Club's two highest annual giving donor levels. For more information on giving to IU Athletics, please contact the Varsity Club office at (812) 855-0866 or varsity@indiana.edu.
