With Thanksgiving just around the corner, all of Indiana's coaches and student-athletes are thankful for one-of-a-kind opportunities and the unwavering support they have received during their time as Hoosiers. Here is what several of them had to be thankful for:
Junior Men's Basketball Player Adam Ahlfeld
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to play a sport like basketball at a school like Indiana. The sport of basketball has done some great things for me and for that, I will always be grateful. There are some wonderful people at Indiana. We have support from unbelievable fans, donors and students who appreciate what we do. There is plenty to be grateful for this Thanksgiving."
Senior Football Player Justin Frye
"I am thankful for my great teammates and experienced coaches that helped me over the past five years."
Senior Cross Country Runner Jessica Gall
"I am thankful for coaches and teammates who cheer loudly whether I'm in first or 80th place. I am grateful for the ability to run and participate in athletics, and for all the people that help me do that. I am grateful for long runs on sunny days through the rolling hills of Bloomington. I am grateful for the jersey that says 'Indiana' across the front."
Senior Volleyball Player Anne Grabow
"I have had several wonderful moments being part of the volleyball program at IU and that I am thankful for. I was recruited to walk-on and earned a full scholarship after my sophomore year. Seeing the years of hard work pay off and getting to tell my parents that they were done paying for my education was one of the most rewarding moments of my life."
Assistant Women's Golf Coach Katie Brophy
"I am thankful that I have been welcomed into a community that genuinely ensures the positive adjustment of both new students and staff members. The experienced as well as new members of the athletic department and university have invited and encouraged me to become a part of the renowned tradition that is Indiana University."
Junior Men's Basketball Player Lance Stemler
"I'm thankful for the chance to put on the Indiana uniform every day. I am thankful for the unbelievable support of the fans and administration who believe in me and this program."
