BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On a weekly basis, IUHOOSIERS.com will recognize top academic performances by Hoosier student-athletes with the IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week award. For the week ending Feb. 19, freshman swimmer Jeff Wood earned the honor as selected by IU Athletics' Academic Services.
"Jeff continues to put forth great effort not only in the pool, but also in the classroom," Indiana head coach Ray Looze said. "We are proud of his accomplishments."
Wood jumped out to a fantastic start this Spring semester. He is enrolled in very challenging courses and is rising to the challenge. Additionally, Wood posted one of the highest scores possible on the Basic Accounting mid-term exam.
"In addition to his willingness to take on a very tough schedule during the championship swim season, Jeff is simply one of the most positive and respectful young athletes here at Indiana University," academic advisor Jen Brand said. "Jeff will, no doubt, continue to be a leader both in the pool and in the classroom."
