Means Named IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On a weekly basis, IUHOOSIERS.com will recognize top academic performances by Hoosier student-athletes with the IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week award. For the week ending April 16, freshman football/baseball player Andrew Means earned the honor as selected by IU Athletics' Academic Services.
"Andrew is a special person and a unique athlete to be able to participate in two sports at IU at the same time," Indiana head football coach Terry Hoeppner said. "He has already made an impact in baseball. Based upon his performance in spring football, I think he will be an important part of our receiving corps in the fall. Congratulations to him for being named IU's Scholar-Athlete of the Week."
Not only is Means balancing the two sports, he also maintains a high grade point average. He works quietly and diligently at study table, with or without his mentor, and has submitted grade reports with Oncourse attachments during his last two academic meetings.
"Andrew has committed himself to excellence and it shows in everything he does," academic advisor Dustin Swanson said. "He embodies everything that you want in a student-athlete. Andrew has surpassed my academic expectations and I look forward to being a part of his journey here at Indiana University".
