BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - With the official start of the 2008-09 wrestling season less than three weeks away, IUHoosiers.com continues to introduce the freshman class. In this edition of "Meet the Hoosiers," here is Nick Cook...
Cook is a two-time state finalist from Virginia, finishing as the runner-up in both 2007 and 2008. He also placed at the state championships as a sophomore in 2006. Cook compiled a career record of 155-33 while leading his team to a pair of top-10 finishes in the state (ninth in '07, third in '08). He was a member of the Washington Post's First Team All-Met squad as a senior.
Cook showed the ability to shine on the national stage as well, finishing in second, fifth and eighth in three consecutive years at the NHSCA Nationals. The son of Linda Cook and Oracin Filsaime also excelled on the gridiron for the Falcons of Fauquier High School. Nick "Cookie" Cook intends to major in Business Management.
