Indiana Annihilates Competition in Tri-Meet

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Indiana University wrestling team dominated a pair of foes in Crawfordsville, Ind., Tuesday night (Nov. 18), shutting out both Wabash and Manchester College by scores of 49-0 and 58-0, respectively.
Indiana won all 20 individual bouts en route to outscoring the Little Giants and Spartans by a combined 107-0 tally. The Hoosiers compiled 13 pins (12 were first-period falls), two tech falls and a major decision on the night. Nine of the 11 Hoosiers that competed stuck at least one opponent in the tri-meet. Angel Escobedo (125 lbs.), Matt Ortega (133 lbs.), Matt Coughlin (157 lbs.) and Paul Young (165 lbs.) each posted a pair of falls.
Andrae Hernandez, Justin Kuhn and Alex Warren also each garnered bonus points in both matches Tuesday night. Hernandez followed up a 17-0 tech fall against Wabash with a major decision versus Manchester. Kuhn took a forfeit and notched a first-period pin while Warren's pin of Clint Fisher (1:04) was accompanied by a 18-0 tech fall.
