Priority Point Spotlight #10: Priority Point Rank

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Did you know that ticket location at football and men's basketball games is assigned in order of priority point rank?

Priority points are used to allocate priority seating at football and men's basketball games. At the Varsity Club, we frequently get asked how season tickets are assigned. In this edition of Priority Point Spotlight, we'll highlight priority point rank.

The Indiana University Priority Point Policy was designed to ensure equitable consideration for the loyalty and financial support of the thousands of IU fans who wish to attend athletic events.

Ticket holders earn priority points in a number of different ways, including continuous years as season ticket holders and contributions to the Varsity Club, capital campaigns and other areas within Indiana University.

Points are awarded in two ways: accumulative and non-accumulative priority points. Accumulative points carry over from year to year. Non-accumulative points are awarded on an annual basis, but expire at the end of the year. See our priority point page for more detail on items classified as accumulative vs. non-accumulative.

Point accumulation totals are tallied twice a year based on the renewal deadlines for football and men's basketball season tickets. These tallies are used to assign your seat location each year. For football, the deadline is typically set around March 5 each year. For basketball, the deadline is around June 30 of each year.

Men's Basketball Ticket Priority Point Rank

This chart ranks all men's basketball ticket holders by priority point totals from the 2012-13 basketball season. Example: If you have a public point total of 1300, then you will rank in the top 30% of all men's basketball public season ticket holders.
