Scholar-Athlete of the Month: October
James Connor: Freshmen, Exploratory, Men’s Diving
“I could not be more excited to nominate James for this award as he is on his way to a brilliant first semester at IU. James quietly goes about his daily academic preparation and brushes off any sort of success in his classes as luck. It’s not luck that has made James successful in his first 10 weeks this semester, but his commitment to being the best student possible.” –Eileen O’Rourke, Assistant Director of Academic Services and Certification
Molly Pittman: Sophomore, Exercise Science, Women’s Soccer
“As a transfer student it’s always difficult to adjust to a new school, however Molly hasn’t missed a beat since coming to IU this summer. Molly is excelling in all of her classes because she’s willing to put in the time needed to be a successful student. I expect nothing but great things from Molly during her time at IU.” –Eileen O’Rourke, Assistant Director of Academic Services and Certification
Spirit Award Winner:
Rashard Fant-Redshirt Freshman, Football
“November’s Spirit Award Winner is Rashard Fant, a redshirt freshman cornerback on the Football Team from Atlanta, GA. In addition to majoring in SPEA, Rashard has begun preparing himself for a career by attending career development sessions through the Leadership & Life Skills Department, been building his personal network and support system at the African American Faculty, Staff & Student-Athlete Mixer, and giving back to youth in the community through the Partners in Education program and various community service activities. On any given fall Saturday, you can find Rashard on the football field, and on any given off time, you can find him working to grow personally and improve the world around him.” –Lisa Franz, Director for Leadership and Life Skills
