2005 marked the first of three consecutive seasons of being undefeated in conference play for the Hoosiers. They were a perfect 7-0 in the CWPA Western Division (their second year in the west). Indiana finished with an overall record of 24-10 and brought home the Fluid Five Challenge Championship. To capture the Fluid Five Championship, the Hoosiers defeated Colorado State, UC-Davis, and San Jose State.
The 2005 Hoosiers Water Polo team had many individual accolades. Kandace Waldthaler was named to the ACWPC All-America Team, to become Indiana's third All-American in water polo. Waldthaler was also awarded All-Eastern Championship First Team and CWPA All-Division First Team. Joining Kandace on the All-Eastern Championship and CWPA All-Division teams were Krista Peterson, Jessica Goldner, and Carolyn Conway.
Continuing the academic excellence of Indiana Water Polo, eleven Hoosiers were awarded with academic awards. All eleven made the Academic All-Big Ten Team. Seven of those Hoosiers were given the distinction of CWPA All-Academic and ACWPC All-Academic.
Team Accomplishments:

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Over the next couple months, we will take a look back at some of the players and teams from the Indiana Water Polo program that have made it the program that it is today - one of the best in the country. This week, we look back at the 2005 season.
