Q: What made you choose Indiana University?
A: I initially chose Indiana because I really liked the coaches, the team, and the great reputation of the business school. It was all-around the perfect fit for me.
Q: What was the biggest adjustment for you when coming to Indiana University?
A: Adjusting to the rigorous demands of being a Division I athlete was initially difficult, and it was hard for me to get used to having so many demands on my time. Being from Atlanta, I didn’t really know anyone as an incoming freshman, but my teammates quickly became my family and my best friends.
Q: What has been your favorite class so far at IU?
A: My favorite class at IU was definitely Introduction to Financial Accounting with Professor Jamie Pratt. Professor Pratt was so energetic and genuinely interested in the success of his students, and he ultimately helped me realize what I wanted my career path to be.
Q: How do you interpret the Spirit of Indiana?
A: The Spirit of Indiana is the fight that’s evident in every one of IU’s athletes and students. It’s the passion we exhibit in the classroom, in the weight room, and on the court. We do it all for our teammates and for our university.
Q: What’s your goal for this season?
A: I want to enjoy my last season as much as I can and cherish every moment with my teammates. I want to help lead the tennis team to a successful season, both on and off the court.
Q: What’s your favorite moment as a Hoosier?
A: My favorite moment as a Hoosier was last spring, when I clinched our match against Purdue. Having my teammates cheer me on as we beat a team ranked much higher than us was one of the best memories I have from my college career, and I will carry that with me the rest of my life.
Q: What’s your hidden talent?
A: I can quote every Lord of the Rings movie from memory. If that’s not a talent that will propel me to stardom, I don’t know what is.
Q: What’s your favorite place to eat in Bloomington?
A: There’s nothing better than a steak from Little Zagreb’s!
Q: As a scholarship athlete, how do you feel you benefit most by the aid you receive from Varsity Club donors?
A: I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to play for Indiana University as a scholarship athlete. The Varsity Club donors have opened so many doors for me. It’s because of the Varsity Club that I’ve been able to continue to play the sport I love while getting an excellent education at the same time.
Q: If you had the opportunity to meet the donors that provided your scholarship, what would you like to say to them?
A: Through IU Athletics, I have grown so much as a teammate, a student, and an individual. These four years have been the best of my life, and I can’t thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to play for the Hoosiers. My experiences as a student-athlete at IU have shaped me into the person I am today, and I will forever be so proud to call myself a Hoosier.
