Hoosier Highlights: Winter 2015

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - IU Athletics is now in its winter season and we're thrilled to share some recent Hoosier Highlights with you -- our most dedicated fans!
- Men's swimming and diving is ranked 9th nationally, while the women are ranked 15th. Both teams beat Purdue in a recent dual meet.
- Indiana swimmers and divers have been well represented on the Big Ten weekly awards list.
- Anze Tavcar has been Big Ten Swimmer of the Week on two occasions, while Blake Pieroni has earned the Big Ten Freshman of the Week award twice. Michael Hixon comes in with a whopping four Big Ten Diver of the Week honors in his first season as a Hoosier. James Connor also has a Big Ten Diver of the Week award to his credit, while Ali Khalafalla was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Oct. 14.
- On the women's side Brooklynn Snodgrass has three Big Ten Swimmer of the Week awards, while Kennedy Goss has been named Freshman of the Week three times. Jessica Parratto and Lacey Houser have each taken home a Big Ten Diver of the Week award.
- Several Hoosiers picked up national titles at the USA Swimming Winter Nationals Championships and the USA Diving Winter Nationals. Brooklynn Snodgrass was crowned a national champion in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 800 free relay at the USA Swimming event in December. Joining her as a national titlist in the 800 free relay were Haley Lips, Cynthia Pammett and Kennedy Goss. At the USA Diving Winter Nationals, Jessica Parratto won gold in the platform competition and earned another title alongside former Hoosier Amy Cozad in the synchro platform event.
- Women's tennis has started the season 3-0, while men's tennis, under the direction of new head coach Jeremy Wurtzman has started the year 2-0 with wins over top 60 ranked teams Dartmouth and Cornell.
- In Indoor Track and Field, sophomore All-American Tretez Kinnaird has run the top time in the nation in the 600m dash and has been honored by the Big Ten with the Track Athlete of the Week award twice already this season.
- Men's basketball is currently ranked 21st in the country and has a Big Ten best four wins over ranked opponents this season.
