BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team hosts its Big Ten home opener on Friday Oct. 2 at 7:00 p.m. ET against Maryland and welcomes Rutgers on Saturday Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Red Out
The match on Friday against Maryland will be a Red Out so come to University Gym wearing red and get discounted tickets. It will also be Dads and Daughters night, with Daughters getting in free with their Dads. Additionally the marketing department will be giving out #GoIU fanny packs while supplies last.
Hoosier Hitters
On Saturday the team will host their annual Hoosier Hitters clinics in the morning and welcome those individuals as special guests for the match in the evening, at 7:00 p.m. against Rutgers.
Success vs. the Terps and Scarlet Knights
Last season the Hoosiers matched up against Big Ten newcomers Maryland and Rutgers three times with two against Rutgers and one match at Maryland. The Hoosiers won all three matches with the two matches against Rutgers coming with three set victories.
Anderson's Arsenal
Senior Amelia Anderson is having a career season in her last year with the Cream and Crimson. Anderson leads the Big Ten in total kills with 219 and ranks fifth in kills per set at 3.91. Anderson is on pace to well exceed her total of 312 kills from last season in 32 matches, already with the 219 kills through 14 matches this season.
Bring on the Boilers
Next week the Hoosiers will play Purdue twice. The first matchup will be Wednesday Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m. at home with the Monon Spike trophy on the line. The second match will be at Purdue on Saturday Oct. 10 at 8:00 p.m.
On the Airwaves
This season Lucas Corley is the voice of IU volleyball. For both road matches and home matches Corley will have audio broadcasts and select BTN Plus matches. Lucas is also the host of the weekly coaches show with IU head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan.
