Fall Schedule Continues in Las Vegas

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's golf team will be part of the 19-team field at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. The tournament begins with 18 holes on Sunday, followed by 18 holes on Monday and Tuesday.

The Hoosiers will send five women to compete towards the team score and also have one individual competing. The lineup for the weekend looks like this:

CHEVALIER SHINES IN LOUISVILLE
Senior Camille Chevalier closed the Cardinal Cup in Louisville with the best round of her college career. She carded four birdies and finished the day at 2-under par 70. It also tied for the lowest round of the day in tough conditions at the UofL Golf Club in Louisville.
STRONG PERFORMANCE AT EAST-WEST MATCH PLAY
The last time head coach Clint Wallman and the Indiana Women's team were on the course, they finished in third place in the match play portion at the East-West Match Play after placing fourth in the stroke play portion.
Leading the way for Indiana was Ana Sanjuan, who tied for 21st in the stroke play portion and then went 2-0 in her match play competition. Eva Domingo was the top IU performer in the stroke play, carding rounds of 73 and 71 before going 1-1 in match play.
TEAM EFFORT IN SOUTH CAROLINA
As a team, Indiana finished 8th with a team score of 893 (+29) at the Powerade Cougar Classic to start the 2015-16 season. The Hoosiers eighth place finish to open the season is their best 54-hole tournament finish to start a season since 2012-13, when they finished seventh at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in New Mexico.
FRESHMEN START STRONG
A pair of freshmen got their collegiate career started in a big way at the Powerade Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C., the first tournament of the season.
Erin Harper, from Dublin, Ohio, was the top performer on the IU team, finishing tied for 12th with a total score of 1-over par 217. Her T12 finish gave her the best finish by an IU freshman in a 54-hole event since Elizabeth Tong (T8th) at the Lady Northern Intercollegiate on Oct. 10-11, 2011.
Eva Domingo, a freshman from Spain, finished tied for 40th with a score of 225 (+9), including a team-best 73 in the final round.
TOP RETURNERS
As a whole, the Hoosiers return six of their top seven players based on scoring average from the 2014-15 season.
Camille Chevalier is the top returning player for the Hoosiers after she posted a scoring average of 75.86 in 22 rounds last year as a junior and recorded one top 25 finish on the year.
Ana Sanjuan, a junior, played in 27 rounds last year and recorded a scoring average of 76.25 on her way to a pair of top 25 finishes.
