Jackson Runner-Up at Reno Tournament of Champions

Reno, Nev. – Redshirt junior Nate Jackson finished in second-place at 174 lb. to lead the Hoosiers at the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday.

As a team the Hoosiers finished in fifth-place with 80.5 points in the tournament.

Jackson, ranked No. 15 upset No. 9 Mike Ottinger from Central Michigan with a 9-4 decision in the semi-final.

Freshman Elijah Oliver finished in fourth-place at 125 lb. After a 16-0 victory in the round of 32, Oliver dropped a match in the Round of 16. Moving to the consolation bracket, Oliver won five consecutive matches to earn a spot in the consolation final or third-place match against No. 16 Josh Rodriguez, who beat Oliver in a 8-4 decision.

Redshirt senior Alex Gregory and redshirt freshman Bryce Martin both earned victories in the quarterfinals of competition, but came up short in the consolation semi-final. Martin finished in fifth-place and Gregory in sixth-place. Cole Weaver also finished in fifth-place.

Up next the Hoosiers travel to the Lock Haven Invitational in Lock Haven, Pa., on Dec. 29.
