BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-- In his time at IU, Senior Ryan Halstead has experienced an dramatic evolution of Hoosier Baseball from its original home at Sembower Field to packing the house at Bart Kaufman Field. He couldn't be more grateful for the support of fans and the IU Varsity Club.

Q: What made you choose Indiana University?
A: I chose IU not only because of the education that is offered, but also to be able to play baseball for a university that holds such tradition and excellence.
Q: How do you interpret the Spirit of Indiana?
A: From Sembower Field to Bart Kaufman Field, it is crazy how much support we have gained not only from Indiana University, but also from the people throughout Bloomington. Having a packed house for our home games instills excellence and tradition into our program, which is what we play for every day.
Q: What's your goal for this season?
A: To win another Big Ten Championship.
Q: What's been your favorite moment as a Hoosier?
A: Playing in the College World Series and being able to represent Indiana University and the previous players that helped build the program into what it has become.
Q: What's your favorite place to eat in Bloomington?
A: Uptown Cafe
Q: As a scholarship athlete, how do you feel you benefit most by the aid you receive from our Varsity Club donors?
A: It makes you realize how tightly knit the alumni that graduated from this University are with the current student-athletes and how they give us a chance to undergo an unforgettable experience here at IU.
Q: If you had the opportunity to meet the donors that provided your scholarship, what would you like to say to him?
A: I would not only thank them for representing Indiana University with excellence, but also for giving me a chance to uphold the tradition they have instilled.
