BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana baseball (4-4) hits the road for the fourth consecutive weekend to open the 2015 season, facing four opponents at the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla., March 6-8. All four games will be played at North Charlotte Regional Park/
Indiana plays its only scheduled doubleheader of the season Friday, March 6,
when the Hoosiers take on Villanova (2 p.m. ET) and Dartmouth (6 p.m.) back to back. IU finishes the weekend with St. Joseph's on Saturday (2:30 p.m.) and Ball State (10 a.m.) on Sunday.
Indiana is coming off a 15-1 win at College of Charleston in which the Hoosiers tallied season highs in runs (15), RBI (15), hits (14), doubles (5) and triples (2).
IT'S EARLY
••• IU started 3-5 in 2014 before finishing the regular season 38-12 overall, going on to win the Big Ten Tournament and earn the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
••• Three of IU's four wins are over 2014 NCAA Super Regional teams. IU has won two of its last three games after just its third skid of three-plus games since the start of the 2013 season, marking just the eighth time overall that the Hoosiers had lost consecutive games.
HOME SWEET HOME
••• IU wraps up its 12 consecutive games away from home to start the season this weekend. IU will play five home games next week after four straight weekends on the road, starting with Eastern Michigan on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Hoosiers welcome Cal State Fullerton for its first weekend series of 2015 at Bart Kaufman Field.
••• The weather forecast is shaping up to be perfect for baseball at BKF, with sunshine and temperatures in the 50s and 60s next week in Bloomington, Ind.
