FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- On the first day of the Mason Rudolph Championship, hosted by Vanderbilt University, the Indiana men's golf team posted a team score of 303 (+19) and is in 14th place as a team.
The top individual performance of the day came from freshman Brendon Doyle, who carded a round of even par 71. The round featured two birdies and a bogey on his first nine holes before a lone bogey on his 16th hole of the day interrupted a string of pars. He is tied for 17th on the individual leaderboard.
Sophomore Will Seger matched his low round of the year with a 75 (+4) and is tied for 47th. Max Kollin got off to a rocky start with two bogeys and a pair of double bogeys on his first four holes. But he rebounded well and played the remaining 14 holes at one over par for a score of 78.
The fourth score that counted towards the team score was a 79 from sophomore Keegan Vea. Rounding out the lineup was Nicholas Grubnich with a 9-over par round of 80.
