BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- IU Athletics is now wrapping up itsspring season and we're thrilled to share some recent Hoosier Highlights with you -- our most dedicated fans!
- Baseball made the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament and was selected to the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team for the first time in school history. IU will play in the Vanderbilt Regional in Nashville this Friday against Radford at 3pm ET. IU is the first Big Ten school to make three straight NCAA Tournaments since Michigan in 2008.
- Rowing is ranked 11th nationally and qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second straight year and for just the second time in program history. They will compete this weekend for the NCAA Championship in San Diego.
- Water Polo was once again ranked in the nation's top 15 nationally and tied for the regular season conference title before finishing as the runner-up in the conference tournament.
- Terry Batemon won the Big Ten Championship in the pole vault for men's track and field.
- Men's basketball, men's cross country, men's golf, men's soccer, men's outdoor track and field and women's tennis programs are among an elite group of Division I sports teams being recognized for top academic performance as part of the NCAA's academic reform program. Based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rates (APR), these awards are given each year to teams that posted multi-year APRs in the top 10 percent of all squads in their sports.
- Men's tennis finished 5th in the Big Ten this year under first year head coach Jeremy Wurtzman. Last year's team finished 9th in the conference with two fewer teams.
- Women's tennis won the most Big Ten matches for the program in a year since 2008.
