BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team is back at home for the first time this season as they host the Indiana Invitational at University Gym this weekend.
The Hoosiers will matchup against Virginia Tech in their home opener on Friday Sept. 11 at 7:00 p.m. ET. On Saturday the Hoosiers take on Bowling Green (12PM) and Northern Arizona (7PM).
The Hoosiers are coming off a 2-1 performance at the Delta Zeta Classic where they tallied wins against Lamar and Texas State.
On Deck for the Weekend
On Friday the Hoosiers will celebrate Salute to Service Day and have a military personnel do the first serve. Fans that come to the match will receive American Flag Sunglasses while supplies last. On Saturday is Girl Scout Day and Camper Reunion. Following each IU match players will be available to talk to fans and give autographs.
Delta Zeta Classic
The Hoosiers went 2-1 at the Delta Zeta Classic in San Marcos, Texas. Senior Amelia Anderson was named to the All-Tournament Team for the second straight weekend and passed 800 career kills. Senior libero and captain Courtney Harnish went over the 800-career digs mark as well.
Blue Raider Bash Awards
Seniors Amelia Anderson and Courtney Harnish were named to the All-Tournament Team at the Blue Raider Bash. Anderson led the Hoosiers with 67 kills, including a career-high 26 in the Hoosiers opening match victory against Bowling Green. Harnish paced the Hoosiers defense with 60 digs (4.0/set) while also registering 19 assists and two aces.
On the Airwaves
This season Lucas Corley is the voice of IU volleyball. For both road matches and home matches Corley will have audio broadcasts and select BTN Plus matches. Lucas is also the host of the weekly coaches show with IU head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan.
