Women’s Golf Begins 2015-16 at Powerade Cougar Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's golf team will open the 2015-16 season at the Powerade Cougar Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston. The event will take place at Yeamans Hall Club in Hanahan, S.C., and is the same place where the Hoosiers opened last season.

The Hoosiers will send five women to compete towards the team score as the Indiana lineup for the weekend looks like this:

LAST YEAR AT POWERADE COUGAR CLASSIC
For the second straight season, the Indiana women's golf team will open the season at the Powerade Cougar Classic. Last year, Indiana finished 18th out of 23 teams in the field and were led by then-senior Elizabeth Tong's score of 214, leaving her tied for 15th individually. The other four players that competed in the event last year – Camille Chevalier, Marissa DeCola, Taylor Howerton and Alix Kong – all return to the team this year.
TOP RETURNERS
As a whole, the Hoosiers return six of their top seven players based on scoring average from the 2014-15 season.
Camille Chevalier is the top returning player for the Hoosiers after she posted a scoring average of 75.86 in 22 rounds last year as a junior and recorded one top 25 finish on the year.
Ana Sanjuan, a junior, played in 27 rounds last year and recorded a scoring average of 76.25 on her way to a pair of top 25 finishes.
