Freshman Harper Continues to Lead IU at Cougar Classic

HANAHAN, S.C. – For the second straight day, freshman Erin Harper led the Indiana women's golf team at the Powerade Cougar Classic hosted by the College of Charleston. The Dublin, Ohio, native is tied for 10^th after carding a 1-under par round of 71 to leave her at 1-under par for the tournament.

As a team, the Hoosiers posted a team score of 302 in the second round and are tied for 12^th with an overall score of 596 (294-302; +20) at Yeamans Hall Golf Course.

For Harper, she started her second round with a bogey on the first hole but came back with birdies on holes 2 and 4 to get to 1-under par. She would go on to finish her front nine at 1-under par before she opened the back nine with a bogey to fall back to even. But three birdies and two bogeys over her final seven holes allowed her to close at 1-under par for the round and give her a total score of 143 (72-71; -1) through two rounds of her first collegiate tournament.

Sophomore Pear Siriko tallied four birdies in her second round, including three on the front nine to offset four bogeys to go out in 37. On the back nine, a pair of double bogeys derailed the chances of a better round as she posted a 4-over par score of 76 in her second round, leaving her with a total score of 151 (75-76; +7) entering the final round.

Camille Chevalier, a senior from France, logged a second round score of 77 to give her a total score of 150 (73-77; +6) and a tie for 45^th individually.

Eva Domingo Graells, another freshman playing in her first collegiate tournament for the Hoosiers, is tied for 66^th individually after her second round score of 78 put her total score at 152 (74-78; +8).

Rounding out the IU scores on Monday was Ana Sanjuan, who posted a score of 82 and is tied for 98^th with a overall score of 161 (79-82; +17).
