Anderson leads the way with 16 kills for the Hoosiers.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana volleyball team suffered a 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-14, 25-16) setback at Michigan on Saturday at Cliff Keen Arena.

Senior Amelia Anderson led the Hoosiers (10-4, 0-2) with 16 kills, while senior Awele Nwaeze added 11 kills and six blocks. Senior captain Courtney Harnish tallied 11 digs for the Hoosiers.

Michigan (11-2, 1-1) got off to a quick start and took the first set 25-16 and led 15-8 in set two. Anderson had eight kills in the set and the Hoosiers used a 11-2 run to take a 19-17 lead and force a Michigan timeout. During the run junior Makayla Lundin came in and gave the Hoosiers two service aces and 13 assists as Indiana totaled 17 kills in the second set. The Hoosiers carried that momentum on to a 25-23 set win.

In sets three and four the Hoosiers made a combined 14 errors compared to seven by Michigan and the Wolverines hit .600 with 14 kills and two errors in the fourth set to put the match away.

Up next the Hoosiers return home to host Maryland on Friday Oct. 2 and Rutgers on Saturday Oct. 3. The Hoosiers will also host rival Purdue at University Gym on Wednesday Oct. 7.
