KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Hoosiers wrapped up their final tournament of the fall season with the WMU Super Challenge at Western Michigan on Sunday.

Sophomore Caitlin Bernard went 3-0 in singles play, which started on Friday with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Isabella Spindler from Cleveland State. On Saturday Bernard picked up a 6-1, 7-6 victory over Melina Lyubomirova of Western Michigan and finished the tournament with a 6-3, 7-6 win against Aspasia Avgeri.

In doubles action three of the Hoosiers doubles pairs made the semi-finals. In one semi-final Madison Appel and Kim Schmider did not play against teammates Caitlin Bernard and Emma Love. In the other semi-final Paula Gutierrez and Pauline Jahren beat Ashby and Lyubomirova 8-5. Appel and Schmider played an additional match against Bensimon and Schober of Cleveland State and came away with a 8-2 victory.

Up next the Hoosiers will host the Winter Invitational in Bloomington, Jan. 14-16.
