The senior from France is tied for 21st after the first round

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – The Indiana women's golf team opened the spring season at the 2016 Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Rio Mar Country Club River Course in Puerto Rico on Sunday. After their first round score of 307, the Hoosiers are in 16^th place in one of the deepest fields of teams in the country.

Senior Camille Chevalier recorded a 1-over par 73 in her first round, leaving her in a tie for 21^st after 18 holes of the event. She played the front nine at 3-over par but rebounded nicely and finished her round with back-to-back birdies to play the back nine in two-under par.

Pear Siriko recorded a steady scorecard in round one with 13 pars and one birdie on her way to a 4-over par 76 and a tie for 47^th.

Ana Sanjuan and Erin Harper both finished their first rounds at 7-over par 79 and a tie for 69th, but they both took different routes to get there. Sanjuan started on hole 13 and was 2-over par as she headed to the front nine, but she would play the front nine in 4-over par. For Harper, she started on hole 15 and was even as she made the turn to the front. After a bogey on the fourth hole, her round was derailed by a triple bogey on the eighth hole.

Rounding out the IU lineup was Theresa-Ann Jedra, who posted an 81 in her first round and is tied for 77^th.
