Remembering Robert J. Stebbins

Robert J. Stebbins had a lifelong relationship with Indiana University.
He won football letters in 1948, 1949 and 1950, served as IU Alumni Association Field Secretary, worked closely with Claude Rich on the development of the administrative structure and concept of the Varsity Club. He then became the first director of the Varsity Club in 1953 and served until 1968. During his retirement he continued to work for Indiana University Athletics as a volunteer and served as the official timer for Indiana football for many years. In 2000, Robert was inducted to the IU Athletic's Hall of Fame. He will forever be remembered as an ambassador for IU Athletics. Robbert passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2016. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
