Indiana’s Lanza Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

CHICAGO – Indiana University swimmer Vini Lanza was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday. The honor is the first in the career for Lanza.
Last week, Lanza helped the No. 9-ranked Hoosier men's swimming and diving team beat the No. 10-ranked Louisville Cardinals, 175-125.
The rookie touched the wall first in the 100 butterfly, winning with a NCAA B cut and career-best time of 48.20, ranking him 16th in school history. In the 200 butterfly, Lanza finished second with a NCAA B cut and career-best mark of 1:47.95, placing him 15th all-time at Indiana.
