Hoosiers Fall to Seton Hall in Extras, 6-4

The Hoosiers collected 12 hits in the loss and held a lead of 3-1 entering the seventh inning. Seton Hall went ahead with a three-run seventh before Indiana tied it up in the bottom of the ninth. A two-run tenth for the Pirates proved to be the outcome.
Indiana's 3-6 hitters (freshman Luke Miller, junior Craig Dedelow, junior Tony Butler and sophomore Isaiah Pasteur) each had two hits in the loss. Dedelow, who extended his reached base streak to 14 games, had an RBI along with Miller, Pasteur and freshman Scotty Bradley. Freshman Ryan Fineman also went 2-for-2 to up his batting average to .409 on the young season.
Senior Evan Bell started on the mound for the Hoosiers, surrendering just one earned in six innings of work. Junior Jake Kelzer and freshman Jonathan Stiever combined for four innings of relief, allowing one earned run over that span.
Indiana got on the board in the first inning as junior Alex Krupa, who was hit by a pitch, scored on an RBI single by Dedelow to make it a 1-0 game.
Then in the third inning, Miller singled in sophomore Laren Eustace, who reached via a walk earlier in the frame. Miller went on to score later on an infield single by Pasteur. The Hoosiers held a 3-0 lead at that point.
After the Pirates got one in the sixth, they came back in the seventh and scored three unearned runs to take a 4-3 lead.
With Indiana trailing by one run in the bottom of the ninth and one out, junior Austin Cangelosi ripped a triple to right field. Bradley was called upon to pinch hit and did his job, singling through the right side to score Cangelosi and forcing extra innings.
Seton Hall retook the lead with two unearned runs in the top of the 10th.
Indiana is back in action on Sunday at 10 a.m. with a contest against in state foe, Butler. Senior Caleb Baragar will start on the mound.
