BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team departs for it's final road trip of the regular season as the Hoosiers take on Nebraska on Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET and battle No. 67 Iowa on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
The Hoosiers (7-14, 2-5) have won three of their last four matches, including an upset of No. 33 Penn State by a 4-0 score on Sunday April 10 at the IU Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers first opponent, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are 11-9 overall and 2-5 in the Big Ten. Iowa, who will take on Purdue on Friday currently has a 10-12 overall mark and 1-6 tally in Big Ten play.
IU head coach Jeremy Wurtzman said he was happy with how the Hoosiers responded after a tough loss against No. 5 Ohio State last week.
"We came out motivated and hungry for a victory Sunday against Penn State," he said. "We have been working hard all year and I thought our time was ready to come in order to get a big win like we did. All the guys really stepped up and played great tennis."
"Nebraska and Iowa are similar teams to us in that they have had some good wins and have also taken some losses. I think we will have our hands full, especially playing on the road. After a couple wins we are playing with confidence and should have a good shot."
Following the road trip the Hoosiers are back at home for the final time this season with matches on April 22 (Wisconsin) and a senior day match against Minnesota on April 24.
