Track Finishes Second in Big Ten v ACC Challenge
Both the men's and women's teams finished second in the Big Ten v ACC Challenge. The men's team finished behind Purdue but topped Louisville, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame. The women's team fell to Louisville but finished ahead of Michigan State, Purdue, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh.
Rorey Hunter led an Indiana sweep in the 1,500m run by winning with a time of 3:44.38. Matt Schwartzer took second, Owen Skeete placed third, and Joe Murphy finished fourth. Four runners scored points in the women's 1,500m run. Brenna Calder led the attack with a career best time of 4:21:59. That is also the sixth fastest time in program history. Brianna Johnson took fourth, Olivia Hippensteel was right behind in fifth, and Corinne Cominator scored a point with an eighth place effort.
Sydney Clute and Sophie Gutermuth went one-two in the pole vault. Clute's clearance of 4.21m (13ft 9.75in) is a new career outdoor best. Gutermuth's mark was 4.11m (13ft 5.75in). Dylan Anderson placed second in the men's pole vault with a mark of 5.11m (16ft 9.25in).
Laura Schroeder was victorious in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 62.42m (204ft 9in). Nakel McClinton finished third in the event with a mark of 58.43m (191ft 8in). On the men's side Andrew Miller finished fifth with a mark of 60.16m (197ft 4in) and Dyrek Chowning scored a point with an eighth place finish. Matt Birk finished third in the javelin with a heave of 56.26m (184ft 7in).
McClinton finished sixth in the shot put with a mark of 13.91m (45ft 7.75in) and Nycia Ford took seventh with a mark of 13.23m (43ft 5in). Willie Morrison finished second in the shot put with a mark of 17.40m (57ft 1in). Three Hoosiers scored points in the discus throw. Chowning took second with a season best mark of 53.29m (174ft 10in), David Schall finished sixth with a throw of 50.06m (164ft 03in), and Morrison placed seventh with a mark of 49.54m (162ft 06in), a new career best.
Paul Galas took first in the high jump with a season best mark of 2.10m (6ft 10.75in). Treyton Harris tied for second with a mark of 2.05m (6ft 8.75in). Harris continued his strong meet with a third place finish in the long jump. His mark was 7.12m (23ft 4.5in).
Joshua Roche finished second in the men's steeplechase with a time of 8:55.32. Eric Claxton was right behind him in third with a time of 8:59.43.
Taylor Williams finished third in the 400m dash with a time of 55.13. Riley Egbula took fourth in the event with a 55.41. Mackenzie Bollinger finished second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.68. Zach Reitzug finished fourth on the men's with a time of 52.91.
Taylor Wiley finished fourth in the 800m run with 2:10.90. Brianna Johnson took seventh with a time of 2:11.93. Hunter took third in the 800m run with a time of 1:52.21, Murphy finished seventh with a time of 1:53.63, and Skeete was eighth with a time of 1:53.87.

The women's 4x100m relay team of Maya Caudle, Jaela Gay, La Toya Williams, and Egbula finished fourth with a time of 46.61, a new season best mark. The men's team of Tyler Bellaire, Phillip Moore, Cornelius Strickland, and Markevious Roach also took fourth with a time of 41.65.
Adrian Mable finished fifth in the 110m hurdle finals with a season best time of 14.62. Bellaire finished eighth in the 200m dash with a time of 21.93, and fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 10.81. Moore finished eighth with a time of 11.17. Gay also finished eighth in the 100m dash with a time of 12.12. Treyton Harris tied for fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 21.63.
Ari Nelson finished second in the long jump with a leap 5.97m (19ft 7in). Taylor Pennington and Michelle Adeniyi finished tied for eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.56m (5ft 1.5in).
