
Indiana Looks To Continue Hot Streak At Big Ten Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's golf team will look to continue its recent string of solid team play this week at the 2016 Big Ten Women's Golf Championship at the Fort Golf Resort in Indianapolis.
The 54-hole tournament begins on Friday at 8:30 a.m. The format for the weekend will have the teams competing using the "Play 6, Count 4" format, where the teams will use the four lowest scores each round out of the six players competing.

Last season at the Big Ten Championship – also played at the Fort Golf Resort - Indiana posted team scores of 301, 310 and 300 for a total score of 911 and 11th place out of the 14 teams. The top Individual performance for the Hoosiers came from then-senior Elizabeth Tong, who tied for 41st with a total score of 228 (72-78-78).
BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Indiana has won the Big Ten Women's Golf Team Championship a total of seven times (1986, 1987, 1990, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1998) and has had the individual medalist a total of 10 times. The last time Indiana had the individual champion was in 2004 when Danah Ford posted a score of 287.

HOOSIERS TIE FOR SECOND; CHEVALIER EARNS FIRST COLLEGIATE WIN
While the Hoosiers were continuing their hot streak on the course a team, senior Camille Chevalier was taking it to another level. The native of France carded a final round score of 68 (-4) to win the Lady Buckeye Invitational by one shot for her first collegiate stoke play tournament win.
Junior Ana Sanjuan and freshman Erin Harper both tied for ninth while sophomore Alix Kong tied for 20th. Indiana has now finished fourth, second and tied for second in its last three tournaments.
HOOSIERS EARN RUNNER-UP AT BRIAR'S CREEK
At the Briar's Creek Invitational on March 22-23, the Hoosiers compiled a team score of 869 over the three rounds and earned a second place finish. It marked the best team finish by the Hoosiers since they won the IU Invitational in 2013.
Camille Chevalier finished in fourth place with a score of 211 (-5), her best career finish after she had rounds of 68 and 69 on the week. Pear Siriko finished in a tie for 21st, which is the best finish of her career as well and Erin Harper carded her fifth Top 30 finish of the season.
HARPER POSTS TOP 3 FINISH AT WESTBROOK
Indiana freshman Erin Harper posted the best finish by an IU player this season when she finished the Westbrook Invitational in a tie for third place. It marks the best finish by an IU golfer since Elizabeth Tong registered a second place finish at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 19, 2015. It is also the best finish by an IU freshman since Lindsay Gahm also tied for third place at the Lady Northern Invitational on Oct. 12, 2010.
SCHOOL RECORD FALLS IN LAS VEGAS
Indiana set a new school record for lowest team score at a 54-hole event, posting a score of 847 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The previous record was 860 set in 2008 at the same tournament.
The final round team score of 280 was also the second-best single round in program history. The score of 282 in the second round now sits as the third-best round in school history as well.
The overall tournament score of 847 was good for 10th place out of 18 teams in Las Vegas.
CHEVALIER SHINES IN LOUISVILLE…AND LAS VEGAS
Senior Camille Chevalier closed the Cardinal Cup in Louisville with the best round of her college career. She carded four birdies and finished the day at 2-under par 70. It also tied for the lowest round of the day in tough conditions at the UofL Golf Club in Louisville.
Chevalier carried the momentum from Louisville out west to the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, where she set a new IU record for lowest score at a 54-hole tournament. Her score of 208 (-8) was one shot better than Elaine Harris' total of 209 set in 2007. Chevalier would finish in 13th place in Las Vegas with rounds of 67-72-69, with the first round 67 tying the IU record for lowest single round score
STRONG PERFORMANCE AT EAST-WEST MATCH PLAY
The Hoosiers finished in third place in the match play portion at the East-West Match Play after placing fourth in the stroke play portion.
Leading the way for Indiana was Ana Sanjuan, who tied for 21st in the stroke play portion and then went 2-0 in her match play competition. Eva Domingo was the top IU performer in the stroke play, carding rounds of 73 and 71 before going 1-1 in match play.
TEAM EFFORT IN SOUTH CAROLINA
As a team, Indiana finished 8th with a team score of 893 (+29) at the Powerade Cougar Classic to start the 2015-16 season. The Hoosiers eighth place finish to open the season is their best 54-hole tournament finish to start a season since 2012-13, when they finished seventh at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in New Mexico.
