Hoosiers Sweep Badgers, 4-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 64 Indiana men's tennis team dispatched of No. 53 Wisconsin, 4-0 for their fifth straight victory at the IU Tennis Center on Friday.
The Hoosiers (10-14, 5-5) have now won five of their last six Big Ten matches and find themselves in sixth-place in the Big Ten standings.
The double point started the excitement as it came down to a tiebreaker on the No. 1 doubles court. Seniors Sam Monette and Daniel Bednarczyk gave the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead in the match with a 7-3 win in the tiebreaker.
Indiana kept momentum on their side by winning four of the six first sets in singles play.
Freshman Afonso Salgado gave the Hoosiers their first singles point with a 6-3, 6-1 straight set victory at No. 6 singles.
After winning his first set 6-3, Bednarczyk found himself in a battle in set two. Bednarczyk would eventually defeat Chema Carranza in a second set tiebreaker to put the Hoosiers up 3-0 in the match.
Sophomore Raheel Manji, playing at the No. 2 spot split his first two sets, but came out on fire in set three and earned a 6-0 third set victory to clinch the match for the Hoosiers.
Next up the Hoosiers will celebrate Senior Day and play their final match of the regular season at home, on Sunday April 24 at 10:00 a.m. against Minnesota.
