Weather Shortens Day 1 of Dale England Cup

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – The No. 14 Indiana rowing team opened the Eighth Annual Dale England Cup on Friday afternoon on Lake Lemon in Bloomington with Notre Dame, Duke and Navy also participating.

Before all of the varsity boats could get on the water, Mother Nature interfered and stopped the racing for the day after just four races.

In the races that did take place, the 2^nd Varisty Four defeated Duke by 22.2 seconds while the 3^rd Varsity Four came in second to Notre Dame's 2^nd Varsity Four by 22.6 seconds.

The Novice Eight finished second to Notre Dame's Novice eight by a 14.4 margin and the 2^nd Novice Eight's time of 7:18.3 was 18.7 seconds behind Notre Dame while the 3^rd Novice Eight finished with a time of 7:44.9 in the same heat.

Saturday's action gets underway at 8:30 a.m. with all four 1V8 crews racing in the same heat against each other. Click the link above to see the full schedule.
