BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team will begin play in the Big Ten Tournament in Minneapolis, Minn., on Thursday April 28 as the No. 5 seed playing No. 12 Iowa at 12:30 p.m. ET.
The Hoosiers (11-14, 6-5) won six straight matches and six of their last seven Big Ten matches to close out the regular season.
The Hoosiers and Hawkeyes played once this season, in Iowa City, with IU winning the match by a score of 4-0.
"We are definitely going to have a battle with Iowa and that is what we are focused on right now," IU head coach Jeremy Wurtzman said. "It won't be an easy match and we will have to bring the same intensity as the last time we played them."
"We are going in with a lot of momentum and confidence and the guys have been working hard since our last regular season match on Sunday," Wurtzman added.
The University of Minnesota is the tournament host and matches will be played at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis. Live scoring will be available for matches played indoors, but not outdoors. Decisions on the location of play will be made prior to the start of each match.
The winner of the match between Indiana and Iowa will take on No. 4 Michigan in the quarterfinals on Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
