Ethan Curl (Men's Swimming) and Victoria Drake (Rowing) have been selected as the Scholar Athletes of the Month for May.
Ethan Curl – Sophomore, Men's Swimming, Sports Marketing & Management major: Ethan started the Spring semester determined to turn his academics around and prove to his coaches that he could succeed in the classroom. He worked with a tutor, his advisor and a mentor to establish set study plans and ways to best utilize his weekly study hall hours. Ethan was focused and determined all semester, reporting exam and quiz grades that proved his efforts were paying off. He finished with a solid semester GPA, that will serve as a foundation for the future. Ethan has made remarkable strides in just one semester that I have no doubt will carry over into future semesters. –Angie Krilich, Academic Advisor
Victoria Drake, sophomore, Rowing, Tourism, Hospitality, & Event Management major – During the first three semesters at IU, Tori searched to find classes and a major that she would enjoy. This spring, Tori finally found her niche. As a Tourism major, she started taking major classes that she found she enjoyed and could excel in. Tori enjoyed what she was learning about and it showed in her grades. Tori had her best semester to date this spring, even with a very challenging General Education course. I fully expect Tori to continue to make each semester better than the last as she progresses to graduation. –Angie Krilich, Academic Advisor
