BATTLING BUTLER
The Bulldogs picked up a 2-1 overtime victory against Ohio in the season opener before battling Eastern Illinois to a scoreless draw. Serina Kashimoto and Breann Pempek both netted a goal for Butler, who won the school's first BIG EAST title last season and made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
IU leads the all-time series against the Bulldogs, 11-6-1 and has won 10 of the last 11 meetings. The teams last played in 2011 with IU winning in Bloomington, 6-1. Friday's game will be the first road game for Indiana in 2016.
AGAINST NORTHERN COLORADO
The Hoosiers return home Sunday to host Northern Colorado, another first-time NCAA Tournament team from a season ago. The Bears have started their year 1-0-1 with a 2-1 victory against Colorado College and a 2-2 draw with Air Force Academy. Mariel Gutierrez has scored three of the Bears' goals this season, with Aleah Strength adding the fourth.
Sunday's game will be the first time in history these two teams have met.
LAST TIME OUT
Indiana opened the season last weekend at Armstrong Stadium. Junior Annelie Leitner's score in the fourth minute put the Hoosiers up early against Louisville on Friday before the Cardinals came back late to tie the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw. On Sunday, the Hoosiers fell to Western Michigan, 2-0.
KEEPERS MAKE THEIR DEBUT
Both Hoosier goalkeepers - freshman Sarah L'Hommedieu and redshirt freshman Bristal Hadley-Mautino made their Indiana debuts last weekend. L'Hommedieu got the start against Louisville and made three saves, while Hadley-Mautino started against Western Michigan and also made three saves.
WHAT'S AHEAD IN 2016?
The 2016 schedule features 11 total games against participants in the 2015 NCAA Tournament and nine opponents who finished last season ranked in the top 50 of the RPI.
The non-conference portion of the slate includes eight games, with six opponents advancing to the tournament last year and four winning their conference championship.
Big Ten play will see Indiana face off against five NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago, including National Champion Penn State and Women's College Cup semifinalist Rutgers.

PUPS AT THE PITCH
Sunday's meeting with Northern Colorado is Pups at the Pitch Day at Armstrong Stadium as IU Women's Soccer invites fans to bring their dogs to help cheer on the Hoosiers!
NEW FACES
The 2016 roster sees the addition of 12 new faces, including 11 true freshmen. Redshirt freshman Haleigh Guerra is also suiting up for the Hoosiers after transferring from Texas. The freshmen group includes Chandra Davidson, Julia De Angelis, Julia Gilliam, Allison Jorden, Emma Kershner, Sydney Kilgore, Sarah L'Hommedieu, Grace Labadie, Kyndal McKinney, Macy Miller and Meghan Scott.
RETURNING IN 2016
Indiana has 15 Hoosiers returning this season, including 13 letterwinners from a year ago. Of those who scored at least one goal last season, five are suiting up again this year, including redshirt senior Marissa Borschke, junior Annelie Leitner and sophomores Cassidy Blacha, Hanna Johnson and Maya Piper.
Senior Veronica Ellis comes into this season as the active leader in goals scored, while junior Kayla Smith is the active assists leader. Both Ellis and Smith, along with Borschke, were named to the Big Ten Preseason Honors list this week. The recognition is the second in a row for Smith and Borschke.
On the other side, Borschke and the Indiana defense will look to continue success from last season, which was highlighted by a scoreless streak of 463 minutes, the second longest in program history. Goalkeepers on the 2016 roster include redshirt freshman Bristal Hadley-Mautino and freshman Sarah L'Hommedieu.
