Hoosiers Win Home Opener, 5-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University men's tennis team (3-0) opened their home schedule and weekend with a 5-2 win over the Ball State Cardinals.
For the third straight match, the Hoosiers started it off with a doubles point win. At one doubles, junior's Raheel Manji and Keivon Tabrizi pulled away to win 6-2. Minutes later, it was sophomore Antonio Cembellin and senior Stefan Lugonjic who clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win of their own.
In singles, Cembellin got the Hoosiers rolling with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the three spot. At five singles, freshman Bennett Crane picked up his third singles win of the season with a 6-2, 7-5 win. Senior Matthew McCoy clinched the Hoosiers third straight win with a 6-1, 6-3 win at four singles.
The Hoosiers are back in action tomorrow, Saturday January 28 as they take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers at 11 AM and the UIC Flames at 3 PM.
