Hoosiers Travel to No. 1 Penn State, No. 8 Michigan State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team will make its final road trip of the regular season this week as the team heads to Penn State for a Wednesday match and Michigan State for a Saturday match.

ASDELL STRONG FOR THE HOOSIERS
Junior team captain Elizabeth Asdell has been one of the Hoosiers most consistent players this season. Asdell is second on the team with 233 kills and is also second on the team in hitting percentage at .296. Over the weekend against No. 10 Wisconsin and No. 5 Minnesota, Asdell recorded 15 kills and hit a combined .433 for the pair of matches.
LOFTON LEADS THE BIG TEN
Sophomore Deyshia Lofton has been a steady force for the Hoosiers this season. Lofton leads the Big Ten in solo blocks with 22. Lofton ranks 13th in the conference in blocks per set (1.00) and 13th in the conference in hitting percentage at .331. Against No. 5 Minnesota, Lofton had nine kills and hit .667 for the match.
BEERMAN LEADS THE HOOSIERS
Sticking with the theme of youth, redshirt sophomore Kendall Beerman leads the Hoosiers in kills with 245. Beerman is 10 kills away from 500 for her career and also has 181 digs and 17 aces this season.
SERVING UP ACES
Sophomore setter Victoria Brisack tallied five aces against Rutgers in the Hoosiers match at Oct. 20. It was the Hoosiers most aces by an individual this season. Brisack followed it up the next day with two aces against No. 1 Penn State. Brisack leads the Hoosiers with 31 aces this season and ranks seventh in the Big Ten in aces per set.
FRESHMEN IMPACT
The Indiana youth is quite evident on the 2017 roster with 11 freshmen and sophomores. Freshman Kamryn Malloy has 126 kills for the Hoosiers this season. Freshman Bayli Lebo has stepped into the starting libero role recently (the second freshman this season to make a start at libero). Lebo has played 94 of the Hoosiers 99 sets this season. Lebo is third on the team in aces with 22 and has recorded 160 digs. Lebo ranks fifth among Big Ten freshmen in aces per set this season.
BACK AT HOME
The Hoosiers will be back at home for the final weekend on Friday Nov. 24 for a 6:00 p.m. ET match against Michigan and will take on Michigan State at home on Saturday Nov. 25 at 7:00 p.m. The match on Saturday against the Spartans will be the Hoosiers senior night match.
