Three Matches at Home for Indiana Women’s Tennis

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team will continue its string of home matches with three this weekend. On Saturday Indiana will host Miami University and on Saturday the Hoosiers will take on Western Kentucky and Evansville.

Season Recap
The Hoosiers are 3-1 on the season with victories against Western Michigan, Butler and Cincinnati and a defeat against Washington State. Indiana opened the season with 7-0 victories over WMU and Butler at the IU Tennis Center.
Appel Big Ten Athlete of the Week
On Jan. 24 sophomore Madison Appel earned Big Ten Athlete of the Week. Appel is now 3-0 in dual match play at the No. 1 singles position for the Hoosiers. On the doubles side Appel, has teamed with senior Kim Schmider to have great success. The duo has posted an overall record of 19-2 and 3-0 mark in dual matches.

On Saturday at the match there will be free Jimmy John's subs!
Looking Ahead
Next week the Hoosiers will make their first road trip of dual match play as they travel to Tennessee for a match on Feb. 12 at 10:00 AM ET in Knoxville. Indiana will return home the following weekend to host Notre Dame on Feb. 18 and Kentucky on Feb. 19.
