Hoosiers Set to Open 2018 Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team will begin its 2018 campaign with two home matches inside the IU Tennis Center.

Monday, January 15 at 2:00 PM ET
Indiana vs. Ball State
Monday, January 15 at 6:00 PM ET
Indiana vs. Eastern Illinois
Last Meeting
This will be the fourth straight season in which the Hoosiers face off against the Cardinals, IU winning the previous three. In last season's matchup, the Indiana won 5-2 in Bloomington.
Eastern Illinois came to Indiana at the end of January last year and came away with a 7-0 deficit. It was one of three matches the Hoosiers would blank their opponent in the 2016-17 season.
About the Cardinals
Ball State will also open up their dual play season when they face IU. Last year, the Cardinals finished 13-13 and were 2-10 on the road.
About the Panthers
Like Ball State, the Panthers will play their first match of their season in Bloomington. EIU is coming off a 5-19 record and 1-15 record away from the Charleston, Ill.
Hoosiers in the Rankings
When the latest ITA singles rankings came out in November, senior Raheel Manji was ranked 125.

Looking Ahead
IU hits the road to close out January beginning with a match at Memphis on Jan. 20. The following week, the Hoosiers travel to Los Angeles for a match against USC on Jan. 28 and a match against either UCSB or SMU.
