
Gutman’s Heroics Lead No. 4 Hoosiers Past Maryland, 2-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Hoosiers men's soccer team defeated the Maryland Terrapins, 2-1, on a goal with 18 seconds remaining in regulation on Friday night at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
KEY MOMENTS
• In the 32nd minute, the Hoosiers (11-2, 5-0 Big Ten) jumped on the scoreboard first as Andrew Gutman buried a header past the Maryland (4-5-3, 2-3) goalkeeper off a corner kick. Austin Panchot send the ball to the near post, where Gutman scored from six-yards out.
• Maryland equalized on a terrific goal from Paul Bin in the 57th minute, setting up a hectic final 30 minutes.
• With just 18 seconds, Francesco Moore found Rece Buckmaster on the right wing. The senior crossed the ball to the far post, finding the foot of Gutman, who buried the effort from three-yards out to give the Hoosiers the dramatic, 2-1 victory.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Trey Muse had another great match, making three saves in the win.

• With the victory, Indiana is 5-0 in Big Ten conference play for the first time since 2002. IU sits atop the Big Ten standings with 15 points, three points clear of second place Michigan State.
