Haskins Wins Five Matches, Crane Wins Four at ITA Championships

TULSA, Okla. – The Indiana men's tennis was represented by three members, freshman Carson Haskins, junior Bennett Crane and senior Antonio Cembellin, at the 2018 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships.

Both Haskins and Crane won four matches to get out of pre-qualifying rounds and into the qualifying draws. In the qualifying rounds, Cembellin won two matches.

Pre-Qualifying Rd 256 – Crane defeated Arthur Libaud (Louisiana), 6-3, 6-2

Pre-Qualifying Rd 128 – Crane defeated Brady Draheim (OK State), 6-2, 6-2

Pre-Qualifying Rd 64 – Crane defeated Tom Moonen (MTSU), 7-5, 7-6(3)

Pre-Qualifying Rd 32 – Crane defeated Eduardo Roldan (TCU), 6-0, 6-1

First Round Qualifying – Ivan Thamma (UC Davis) defeated Crane, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4

Pre-Qualifying Rd 256 – Haskins defeated Jeremy Moser (Fresno State), 7-6(5), 7-6(1)

Pre-Qualifying Rd 128 – Haskins defeated Enrique Luque Rico (Pepperdine), 3-6, 6-3, 6-3

Pre-Qualifying Rd 64 – Haskins defeated Robert Turzak (NC State), 7-6(4), 6-2

Pre-Qualifying Rd 32 – Haskins defeated Matthew Terry (Cleveland State), 6-7(7), 6-3, 6-4

First Round Qualifying – Riley Smith (USC) defeated Haskins, 6-2, 6-4

Antonio Cembellin

First Round Qualifying – Cembellin defeated Christian Lakoseljac (Penn State), 6-4, 6-4

Second Round Qualifying – Cembellin defeated McClain Kessler (Florida), 6-4, 7-5

Third Round Qualifying – Juan Carlos Aguilar (Texas A&M) defeated Cembellin, 6-1, 6-1

Up next, the Hoosiers continue their fall schedule with the ITA Regionals from Oct. 11-Oct. 15 in Knoxville, Tenn.
