Hoosiers Close Out Non-Conference Play At Puerto Rico Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Non-conference play ends as Indiana travels to the Puerto Rico Classic Wednesday-Friday. The Hoosiers face Loyola Marymount, Grambling State and South Dakota.

NOTES
- The Hoosiers are off to a 9-0 start after a win over Missouri State on Dec. 9. They are coming off a 10-day break since its last win and taking final exams to wrap up the fall semester.
- Redshirt junior guard Ali Patberg recorded her second double-double of the season as she scored 16 points and 13 assists, the second most in a game by an IU player and the most since Tisha Hill did it in 1991. She narrowly missed a triple double by also pulling down seven rebounds in the win over the Lady Bears.
- Patberg is leading the way for Indiana, averaging 17.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.5 rebounds per game. Three other Hoosiers are posting double-digits including redshirt junior forward Brenna Wise who averages 15.1 points and a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game.
- Sophomore guard Jaelynn Penn has turned it on as of late, scoring in double figures in six of her last seven games, including a team-high 20 points in the win over Missouri State. Penn is averaging 13.0 points per game through nine games this season.
- In national statistics of note, the Hoosiers are still one of 17 unbeaten teams in the country. They rank 15th overall in field goal percentage (.479), 16th in defensive rebounds per game (31.0 per game) and 37th in rebounding margin (+8.4). Indiana is also 15th in the latest NCAA RPI, which is the highest in the Big Ten.
- Indiana will play the next four games away from home as it resumes after the holiday break by opening up Big Ten play at Illinois on Dec. 28.
