Hoosiers Win Sixteen Events At Hoosier Hills

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University track and field won sixteen events at the Hoosier Hills meet Friday evening.
On the track for the men redshirt freshman Marcus Ellington earned the first win of the night for the Hoosiers when he crossed the finish line first in the men's mile. Ellington finished with the time of 4:15.07, which is a new indoor personal record.
Sophomore William Session won the men's 60m hurdle finals with the time of 7.86, which is a new indoor personal record. Freshman Moses Baryoh closed out the race for the Hoosiers finishing sixth overall.
In the men's 60m finals freshman Rikkoi Brathwaite competed unattached and won with the time of 6.82. Sophomore Anthony Bello finished fifth overall and earned an indoor PR with the time of 6.99. Brathwaite also won the men's 200m with the time of 21.88, which is an indoor personal record.
Junior Derek Grimmer took first place in the men's 400m with the final time of 49.39. The Hoosiers swept the men's 800m fast section with sophomore Cooper Williams, competing unattached, leading the pack finishing first and earning a new indoor PR with the time of 1:50.41. Redshirt freshman Teddy Browning finished second with the time of 1:51.04 and redshirt senior took third with the time of 1:52.22.
In the men's 3000m redshirt sophomore Bryce Millar was the rabbit for freshman Reese Jordan, who competed unattached. Jordan took first place and ran a new indoor personal best finishing with the time of 8:20.96. Redshirt freshman Cameron Clements closed out the race finishing seventh overall with the time of 8:51.59.
The men's 4x400m relay team consisting of Isiah Ware, Derek Grimmer, William Session and Anthony Bello took first place when the finished with the time of 3:17.69.
On the track for the women freshman Natalie Price won the 200m dash with the time of 24.18, which is a new indoor personal record. Sophomore Megan Grabowski also set an indoor personal record and earned a second place finish with the time of 24.42. Jaela Gay closed out the race for Indiana with a seventh place finish.
In the women's 600m senior Kendell Wiles took first place with the time of 1:30.45. Sophomore Mallory Mulzer finished second and earned a new indoor personal best with the time of 1:32.11. Sophomore Joely Pinkston also ran a PR in the 800m taking first place with the time of 2:09.61.
The Hoosiers swept the women's mile fast section led by redshirt freshman Hannah Stoffel. Stoffel crossed the finish line in 4:50.03, which is an indoor personal best. Redshirt freshman Lexa Barrott also ran a new indoor personal best when she finished close behind Stoffel with the time of 4:50.11. Freshman Claire Hamilton ran unattached and rounded out the sweep for the Hoosiers when she finished third overall with the time of 4:59.82. Redshirt freshman Grace Walther and freshman Josey Korte (unattached) closed out the race for Indiana.
Redshirt freshman Stacy Morozov took second place in the women's 3000m while earning an indoor personal record with the time of 10:16.48.
The women's 4x400m relay team consisting of Riley Egbula, Natalie Price, Jeyland Valentin, Kendell Wiles took first place with the time of 3:44.75. The second relay team consisting of Megan Grabowski, Maya Caudle, Jaela Gay and Mallory Mulzer finished third with the time 3:58.96.
In the field for the men junior Treyton Harris won the men's long jump with the final mark of 7.86m (25'9.5"). Harris claimed the No. 1 mark in the Big Ten, the fifth best mark in the country and a new indoor personal record.
The Hoosiers swept the men's weight throw Friday evening led by redshirt senior Andrew Miller. Miller took first place with the mark of 21.30m (69'10.75"). Freshman Nick Lane finished with the mark of 19.22m (63'0.75"), which earned him a second place finish. Junior Willie Morrison competed unattached and finished third overall with the mark of 18.66m (61'2.75") and junior David Schall finished fourth with the mark of 18.01m (59'1.25").
Schall and Lane both also competed in the men's shot put. Schall finished third with the mark of 17.07m (56'0"). Lane finished eighth overall and earned a new indoor personal record with the mark of 15.78m (51'9.25").
Sophomore Adam Coulon set a new indoor personal record with his performance in the pole vault Friday evening when he took second place with the mark of 5.41m (17'9"). Redshirt freshman Brock Mammoser finished third overall with the mark of 4.96m (16'3.25") and sophomore Alex Shinnerl took fourth with the mark of 4.81m (15'9.25").
In the field for the women sophomore Leah Moran set a new indoor personal record when she won the women's triple jump with the mark of 12.39m (40'7.75"). Moran's previous PR was 12.27m (40'3.25") from the Indiana University Relays.
Sophomore Khayla Dawson finished second in the women's shot put with the final mark of 16.20m (53'1.75"). Freshman Maddie Pollard set a new indoor personal best when she finished fourth with the mark of 15.50m (50'10.25").
Junior Aaliyah Armstead set her new indoor personal record in the women's long jump with the final mark of 6.00m (19'8.25"), which earned her a third place finish. Jenna Jungels finished seventh overall and Leah Moran took eighth.
On day one of the Iowa State Classic the Hoosiers had four athletes compete and all four athletes ran a season best time.
In the men's 3000m redshirt sophomore Kyle Mau and redshirt freshman Ben Veatch both set new indoor personal records. Mau finished took fourth place with the time of 7:50.85 and Veatch finished 12th overall with the time of 7:58.10. Prior to Friday evenings race Mau's PR was 8:03.10 and Veatch's was 7:58.83.
Redshirt junior Katherine Receveur finished third overall in the women's 3000m. Receveur ran a season best time of 9:07.99.
Junior Maggie Allen set a new indoor personal record in the women's 5000m when she finished seventh overall with the time of 15:50.12. Allen's previous PR was 16:10.05.
The Hoosiers will be back in action at the Iowa State Classic Saturday, February 10 afternoon. Senior Brenna Calder will start the Hoosiers off in the women's mile at 1:25pm EST. Redshirt junior Joe Murphy will run the men's mile at 1:50pm EST and senior Daniel Kuhn will run in the 800m at 4:20pm EST.
