HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Florida – Following a stellar opening round team score of 293 to take the early lead at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular, the Indiana Hoosiers posted a second rounds core of 301 and enter the final round in a tie for third place at 18-over par (594).

The tournament is being played at the El Campeon Golf Course at Mission Inn Golf Resort. The final round will get underway at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday with live scoring provided by GolfStat.com.

The top two performers for Indiana on day one were freshman Ethan Shepherd (fifth place) and redshirt junior Jake Brown (tied for sixth). Both opened the day with even par rounds of 72 in round one before Shepherd closed the day with a 73 and Brown followed with a 74.

In round one, Shepherd recorded a double bogey and a bogey that were offset by three birdies. Then in round two, he had five bogeys to go along with two birdies and an eagle.

Brown was steady throughout the day, combining to post 28 pars, three birdies and five bogeys.

Senior Brendon Doyle is tied for 24th after he registered rounds of 74 and 77 over the first two rounds. Evan Gaesser is tied for 36th following a pair of 77's and Brock Ochsenreiter logged a 75 in round one and then stumbled to an 85 in the second round and is tied for 56th.

Indiana also has four students competing as individuals in the tournament, led by Jack Sparrow who is tied for 36th after his rounds of 75 and 79. Christian Fairbanks is tied for 52nd with scores of 80 and 78, Evan Yakubov carded back-to-back rounds of 80 to tie for 56th and Trevor Ranton finished with two rounds of 81 to tie for 61st.
