
Clemson Invitational Brings Nations Best Rowing Programs Together

CLEMSON, South Carolina – The Indiana Rowing team will make its way south to compete in one of the strongest fields of the year at the Clemson Invitational this weekend. The Hoosiers will be one of 12 teams that are either ranked or receiving votes in the latest USRowing/CRCA Coaches' Poll.
The racing will get underway this evening starting at 6:00pm with Session 1. Then Session 2 will begin at 8:30am on Saturday followed by the finals at 6:00pm Saturday night.

IU OPENS 2018 CLAIMING TEAM TITLE AT DOC HOSEA INVITATIONAL
Behind a strong performance from the first varsity 8 and both varsity 4's, the Hoosiers accumulated 108 points to win the team title at the Doc Hosea Invitational on March 31.
The 1V8 won their morning heat and then pulled away for the win by nearly three seconds over Dartmouth and Syracuse in the Grand final. The 1V4 and 2V4 both put forth commanding performances in their morning and Grand final heats to win by six and nine seconds, respectively.
UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS FOR THE HOOSIERS
The Indiana Rowing program is in the midst of unprecedented success for the program, as they have made four consecutive appearances in the NCAA Championship in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Those four appearances marked the first three appearances in the NCAA Championship in program history.
In 2014, the Hoosiers finished 11th as a team and were led by the ninth-place finish of the 1V4 while the 1V8 finished 10th and the 2V8 came in 14th.
In 2015, Indiana once against finished 11th as a team with the 1V8 leading the way with another 10th place finish while the 2V8 checked in with a 11th place finish and the 1V4 registered a 13th place finish.
In 2016, Indiana finished 15th as a team with the 1V4 crew leading the way with a 12th place finish. The 2V8 crew finished fourth in the C final to take 14th place overall and the 1V8 earned a 16th place finish at the NCAA Championships.
In 2017, IU recorded a 12th place finish as a team with the 1V8 leading the way with a 12th place finish. The 2V8 won the C final to bring home 13th place and the 1V4 garnered 14th place by finishing second in their C final.
