Varsity Club Holds 15th Annual Thank-A-Thon

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- Over one hundred and ninety student-athletes participated in the Varsity Club's 15th annual Thank-A-Thon on Tuesday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 18, in the press box of Memorial Stadium. The Varsity Club's Thank-A-Thon is an opportunity for student-athletes to express their appreciation to donors for their generous contributions to support athletic scholarships.
On Wednesday the 18th, IU Athletics participated in the third annual IU Day, a worldwide, 24-hour celebration of Indiana University and the people who make IU possible. This IU Day, the Varsity Club announced two major gifts benefiting the Excellence Academy and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
Student-athletes participated in four 60-minute sessions during which they made phone calls and wrote letters to donors. A total of 987 thank-you calls were made and 1,203 letters were written. Of the phone calls made, student-athletes spoke with 334 donors and left 653 appreciation messages for donors.
