Ochsenreiter’s 66 Is Best IU Round At Big Ten Championship Since 2006

BALTIMORE, Maryland – The second day of the Big Ten Men's Golf Championship saw sophomore Brock Ochsenreiter post a 4-under par 66 to move up into a tie for 24th on the individual leaderboard. The last time an IU golfer shot 66 or better at the Big Ten Championship was in 2006 when Seth Brandon shot 66 in the first round at Conway Farms Golf Club.

As a team, Indiana trimmed 22 shots off their round one score to post 286 in round two. The Hoosiers remain in 14th place through 36 holes but are three shots out of 12th place.

Ochsenreiter's round featured four birdies and no bogeys and it started with a birdie on his first hole – the 10th hole. He followed that up with birdies on 14 and 17 to go out in 3-under 32. Then on his second nine, he carded eight pars and a birdie on the sixth hole to finish at 4-under par.

Senior Brendon Doyle is tied for 48th at 8-over par for the tournament after a 2-over par 72 in round two. Redshirt junior Jake Brown is tied for 56th after a 74 in round two put him at 11-over par while sophomore Evan Gaesser is one shot behind Brown at 12-over par for the tournament after a 74 in round two.

Rounding out the IU lineup is freshman Ethan Shepherd, who is in 68th at 17-over par after a 75 in round two.

The final round will begin at 9:25 a.m. with the Hoosiers going off the 10th tee. Follow live scoring on GolfStat.com.
